The bezel insert and bezel are fine and no play and are installed perfectly. It is the bezel itself that had a slight wobble in it, which can be felt when pushing on the bezel on the 12 and 6 o'clock indices. I recently had someone ask if I can help with a loose bezel that has a wobble to it. I was surprised when they showed me a essentially new yacht-master 42 in white gold 226659. I told them to just bring it to the dealer they purchased from and let them handle it as its fully covered under warranty. All seems good but there is some "backplay" in the bezel - i.e. after I twist it anticlockwise, there can be about a degree or two of movement clockwise before it locks. I guess with 120 clicks in a full rotation there will be some gaps (~2mm per click) but just want to check if . I've given it a couple baths using Dawn Power Spray dish soap, rinsed the bezel out well, turned the bezel under running warm water (not as easy to do on this watch since it's stiff), and have turned the bezel several times (probably 50 times).
I just bought a Rolex Sub C 2 days ago and noticed the bezel was misaligned. I searched the issue on the web and got to this thread. I contacted my rep at Tourneau and they are going to exchange it for me. I recently had my vintage 1983 Submariner serviced by the Rolex Service Center in Manhattan. It was returned late last month and now it works fine except for one thing -- the rotating bezel is very hard to turn and it seemed to be harder in some orientations than others.
